What sort of books did you read as a child?

I loved reading Winnie the Pooh as a child and Enid Blyton’s The Famous Five series where I strongly identified with the tomboy George (Georgina). Later I enjoyed The Secret Garden and Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel.

How did you get into writing?

God led me into writing – I’m not sure that I would have even considered it otherwise! After I was healed of M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), I sensed God saying to me that I would write a book and that it would be called Can God Help M.E? I had no idea then, that this would be the beginning of a whole new career as an author. Can God Help M.E? was published in 1999 and I now have 11 publications in print!

Apart from the Bible, is there any one book that has had a major impact on your life?

Joyce Huggett’s book Open to God opened the door to another world for me at a time when I was desperate with M.E. It was through meditating and learning how to be still in God’s presence, that I first heard God speak to me and His guidance ultimately led to my being completely healed of M.E.

What spurred you into writing your current book?

I have a passion to help busy people hear God and draw closer to Him. This passion fuelled and inspired my current books The Pilgrim Heart (Lion Publishing) which has just been published, and Into God’s Presence – Listening to God through Prayer and Meditation (Zondervan) which has just won an award!

What are you reading at the moment?

I’m currently reading a bestseller called The Mind Gym to help me manage my time more effectively. I’m also dipping into The Food Doctor Everyday Diet Cookbook so that I can learn how to eat more healthily (I’m a chocoholic at heart)!
