January 2009 News
4 January 2009
Hi everyone….Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had a great Christmas. I had a wonderful enforced rest, as I had flu across much of Christmas! I still enjoyed Christmas though, and the New Year.
I’m excited about 2009, despite the economic doom and gloom. So why not try my New Year meditation ‘Looking back to go forward’ as it might help you be more prepared for 2009. Here’s some feedback from those who’ve found it helpful already:
A word of encouragement ~ thank-you for a truly wonderful gem. Not only am I finding the meditation helpful, so are the small group from my congregation who are sharing it with me. You are such a blessing. Liz Jewitt
Thank you for the New Year Meditation, I have had a difficult year and I can see it being very useful in evaluating it. Your work gives me a huge amount of comfort and help. Phyll
You can find more meditations like this in my book Into God’s Presence which is available in my shop.
2009 is my 10th anniversary as a published author!
Yes, it is now 10 years since my first book Can God Help M.E? was published and so I will be celebrating in various ways. My ministry began with leading retreats for ME (CFS) sufferers back in 1996 and I’ve not led a retreat for sufferers for some years now and so it is a wonderful coincidence that this year I’ve been asked to lead one at Mulberry House in Essex.
Celtic Treasure – my 10th book!
I am also celebrating my 10th anniversary as an author with my tenth book – a new colour gift book Celtic Treasure! The design is superb and the title font is going to be in gold foil, which should be stunning. In Celtic Treasure I seek to unearth some of the riches of the Celtic Christian tradition in a creative and accessible way through prose, poetry, prayer etc. It was inspirational to write and my hope is that it will inspire your faith as you read it. It will be published in the UK in June and the USA in September and will be on sale in mainstream bookshops as well as Christian book shops. You’ll be able to order advanced signed copies from me by the end of May.
I already have some wonderful endorsements. See below:
A beautifully illustrated taster that resonates with the heart of Celtic Christian spirituality. Roy Searle (The Northumbria Community)
This beautiful book touches the heart-strings and gives us treasures of wisdom for our journey. Ray Simpson (The Community of Aidan and Hilda)
It was a veritable ‘spa’ for my weary soul after a season of struggle…an oasis of refreshment for a thirsty traveller. And I homed in on that still small voice saying ‘be still and know that I am God’. Joanne Hogg (lead singer of Iona)
Free The Thing about Calories and new Lower prices…Check out my shop for a New Year bargain
Also in celebration, and to help with the credit-crunch, they’ll be special offers on my publications and freebies most months this year. I’ve already reduced the prices of some of my books and CDs and am offering anyone who orders 2 or more of my publications during January a signed copy of The Thing About Calories as a gift. Even Dawn French, who contributed a quote to this book, has a signed copy! It’s a wonderful light-hearted but sensible approach to losing weight and as January is the month people traditionally try to get fit, I thought I’d offer my contribution. And you might like to know that when you buy publications from me, you are supporting my ministry, and enabling me to donate copies of my books and CDs to those in need across the world. I also offer a personal service and turn round orders faster than Amazon.
Future Events
I’ve got some exciting events lined up in 2009. You can even catch my Licensed to Chill show free in London as part of the Pentecost Festival. Check out my website for details and for forthcoming retreats, concerts, books etc. I will be updating my diary with further events during the year, so do come and see me if I’m in your area.
Mega Blessings
Liz
