Sept 2008 News

14 September 2008

Hi everyone. It’s been a busy summer of events, retreats, writing and rain! But it’s been very rewarding and great to meet some of you on the road. Bless you for all the encouragement you give me, which inspires me to keep writing and confirms that I’m on the right track. I love receiving your feedback and questions.

Celtic Treasure now with publishers

I’m delighted to have recently handed in the manuscript for my new colour gift book Celtic Treasure. I’ve written it in record time and have found that the writing process has really fired and inspired my faith. In Celtic Treasure I have sought to unearth some of the riches of the Celtic Christian tradition in an accessible way through prose, poetry, prayer etc. But I also wanted to highlight the continuity of this rich tradition and so I mention the Iona Community, the Northumbria Community, the Community of Aidan and Hilda, and the ‘Celebrating Creativity’ section – the Celtic rock band Iona etc. I had a wonderful week on Lindisfarne this summer researching the book. I’m looking forward to visiting Lion Hudson Publishing soon, to see the layout and colour design of the book. It will be published in the UK next June and in the US some time later.

Free stuff

To celebrate the completion of Celtic Treasure I’m giving away a copies of my meditation CD The Celtic Heart (worth £9.99) to anyone spending over £25 on my publications before the end of October.

Recent Events

Since I last wrote, I’ve led 2 retreat times at Lee Abbey helping folk deepen their relationship with God and God has been at work in wonderful healing ways. It’s also incredible to think that my new book Celtic Treasure emerged from a special time I spent at Lee Abbey as a guest, a couple of years ago. I’ve also had some great feedback from the vicar of a church weekend I led recently. She writes, “Some of us shared a wonderful weekend at Llangasty and we were lucky enough to have Liz Babbs who challenged, taught and enthralled us in equal measure.”

Future events – Advent Retreat week at Launde Abbey 1-5th Dec

Come and join me for a special time of encountering God as we immerse ourselves in Scripture and journey with Jesus and the three Marys. If you’re looking for peace and stillness and time set aside from the busyness of Christmas, then historic Launde Abbey in Leicestershire is just the place to come.

Mega Blessings
Liz
