Swimming Meditation
I meditate when swimming using Bible verses like the one below and tie them into my breathing and stroke pattern. eg ‘Be still and know‘ is one breast stroke ‘that I am God’ is another stroke. It’s incredibly calming and stilling. Give it a try, you’ll be surprised how relaxed you feel.

Jesus Prayer 🙏

This is my go to prayer/meditation/breathing technique when I’m in a tight spot & struggling to find any words to pray. ‘HELP’ is also a favourite!

The Jesus prayer is simple, just 1 word broken into 2 syllables - slowly breathe in ‘Je’ and out ‘sus ’.

I tend to say the name of ‘Jesus’ out loud after each complete cycle of Je (in breath)…sus (out breath) Jesus. That automatically lengthens the out breath. You could also breathe in for 4 counts - ‘Je’ and out for 8 counts ‘sus’ as in my audio recording below.
