WALKING WITH JESUS

Adjustments.jpeg

How are you doing in Strange-land? Many of us are still pinching ourselves that this is actually happening and grieving for what was and uncertain about what will be. Which puts us firmly in the ‘shoes’ of the disciples on the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35). They were experiencing agonising grief, bewilderment and disorientation. They ‘had hoped…’ I wonder what your ‘had hoped’ thoughts are? But in their grief, Jesus walked with them, listening to them as they expressed the full range of their emotions. And when Jesus went home with them and broke bread, they recognised Him, and everything was transformed by the risen Christ. What follows is one of my favourite verses in the Bible:

“Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32

Faith beats Fear 💪

As a way of processing Strange-land you might like to join me in an imaginative meditation, inspired by the Emmaus Road, which is a perfect fit as we take our daily exercise during this crisis. For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7 NKJV
